Level 2.1: A Weekend In The City

Jake loves the city. Every weekend, he plans a fun activity. This Saturday, he wants to meet someone new and explore different places.

Jake meets his best friend, Emma, at a coffee shop. “Do you come here a lot?” Emma asks. “Yeah, I do, actually,” Jake replies. They order coffee and talk about their social life. “I kind of like this place,” Jake says. “I do too,” Emma agrees.

After their coffee, they walk to a bookstore. Jake is a big fan of mystery books, and Emma loves romance novels. “Look at this book,” Emma says. “It’s about a football fan.” Jake laughs. “That’s funny! I watch pro football. I do too!”

Later, they walk past a club and see a long line. “What’s going on?” Jake asks a stranger. “A famous pro football player is inside!” the stranger says. “Oh, really?” Emma says, surprised.

Then, they decide to go to a sports event. They arrive at the stadium and find their seats. “This is exciting!” Jake says. Emma smiles. “Yeah, I can’t wait to see the game.” They cheer for their favorite team and enjoy the match.

After the game, they stop by a small restaurant. “I’m hungry,” Emma says. “Me too. Let’s eat something,” Jake replies. They order food and talk about their favorite moments of the day.

After a long day, Jake and Emma walk home. “Boy, I’m tired,” Jake says. “Me too,” Emma replies. “But that’s about it for today. Let’s plan something fun for next weekend!”
