Level 1.8: Shopping For Clothes

Level 1.8: Shopping For Clothes

Samantha and her friend David are at the mall. Samantha needs a new dress for a party, and David is looking for a jacket.

“Can I help you?” a salesperson asks.

“Yes, I’m looking for a dress,” Samantha says. “I like something casual but comfortable.”

“Well, this dress is very popular,” the salesperson says.

Samantha holds it up. “How much does it cost?”

“It’s on sale for $39.99,” the salesperson says.

“Oh, that’s a good price!” Samantha says.

David looks at a black jacket. “I like this one,” he says. “But it’s not on sale. How much is it?”

“It’s $125,” the salesperson replies.

David sighs. “That’s a lot. I have to think about it.”

Samantha tries on the dress. “It looks good!” David says.

“Do you think so?” Samantha asks.

“Yeah, you should get it,” David says.

“I’ll take it,” Samantha tells the salesperson.

David decides to wait. “I’ll compare prices at another store,” he says.

They leave the store and walk to the food court. “Shopping is fun, but I don’t like spending too much money!” David laughs.

“Me neither,” Samantha says. “Let’s get something to eat!”
