A Morning At Emma’s House

A Morning at Emma’s House

Emma wakes up at 6:30 AM every day. She stretches in bed and yawns. Then, she gets up and goes to the bathroom. She washes her face, brushes her teeth, and combs her hair. Emma likes to start her day feeling fresh. After that, she goes to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Her mother, Mrs. Lopez, is already in the kitchen. “Good morning, Mom!” Emma says.

“Good morning, Emma! Did you sleep well?” her mother asks.

“Yes, I did. What are we having for breakfast?” Emma asks.

“We are having toast, eggs, and orange juice. Do you want some coffee?” her mother says.

“No, thank you. I don’t drink coffee in the morning,” Emma answers.

After breakfast, Emma helps her mother wash the dishes. Then, she goes back to her room. She chooses a blue sweater and jeans. She likes to wear comfortable clothes. After dressing, she checks her school bag. “Let’s see,” she says, “I have my books, my notebook, and my pencils. I am ready for school!”

At 7:30 AM, Emma’s friend, Sofia, comes to her house. They walk to school together every day. Sofia knocks on the door. Emma opens it and smiles. “Good morning, Sofia!” she says.

“Good morning, Emma! Are you ready?” Sofia asks.

“Yes, I am. Let’s go!” Emma says.

As they walk, they talk about their day. “What do you do every morning, Sofia?” Emma asks.

“Well, I wake up at 7:00 AM. I take a shower, get dressed, and eat breakfast. My mom makes pancakes on Mondays. They are my favorite! Then, I brush my teeth and pack my school bag,” Sofia explains.

“That sounds nice!” Emma says. “Do you have breakfast with your family?”

“Yes, we all eat together. My dad drinks coffee, and my little brother drinks milk. What about you?” Sofia asks.

“I usually eat with my mom. My dad leaves early for work,” Emma says.

They arrive at school at 8:00 AM. Their teacher, Mr. Brown, greets them at the door. “Good morning, girls! How are you today?” he asks.

“We are good, thank you!” Emma and Sofia answer.

“Do you have your homework?” Mr. Brown asks.

“Yes, we do!” they say together.

During the first class, Emma thinks about her morning routine. She likes her mornings. They are busy, but they make her feel ready for the day.
